About
Fr. Freddy Ocun, A.J.
When my mother visited the USA in 2004, under the invitation of Dave and Martha Showers, they quickly learnt of the death of her husband at 56 and her daughter at 15 due to malaria, a disease that can be prevented or treated. But they died because we did not have a decent health care facility at the time. We all felt that the most urgent need for my people was to build a medical facility. For the poorest of the poor, the dream for a decent health care facility is not even an option and yet basic health care is a necessity for all.
What We Believe:
Our mission is to continue the healing ministry of Jesus in the world of today through our compassionate care for all.
Our Values:
Compassion
Stewardship
Respect
Excellence
Justice
Our Goal:
Healing: to bring quality services, compassionate, accessible and affordable care and healing for the whole person, both physical and spiritual to communities/villages without any decent health care facility
Education: to educate people to their responsibility within their own culture to cooperate in preventive measures. It will also develop into a training facility for nurses who will in turn go out to the villages to conduct preventive measures by educating people on health issues such as control of mosquitoes that spread malaria, hygiene to prevent the outbreak of cholera, boiling of water, etc. To carry out basic primary health care and education in areas of malaria control, immunization, nutrition, maternal health, family planning, control of communicable diseases, HIV/Aids, etc.
